I wasn’t so sure of Angela when I first met her. She seemed kind of naive. She had me wondering how I seemed to people. But I use naiveness to my advantage. Who knows, maybe she was doing the same to me. After a while, her true colors began to show, and I could see that she had a strong head on her shoulders.
I guess I’ve been able to let go of things a lot easier than other people. Then again, I never let go of my family and my dream of keeping us together. I still think about my blood family like everyone else. But we all have met our blood families, and they were such disappointments to us that we all decided to continue with our love for one another instead of dealing with them.
I think people really take companionship at any level for granted. They don’t realize how special it is. I mean, just open up and converse with someone. You have everything to gain from it. So many people are so afraid of real confrontation with themselves, their beliefs, and their shortcomings, that they’d rather not talk to anyone.
I know my life has been enhanced by being able to talk to people. I’m not afraid at all. Maybe, one day, I’ll even use my real name and age with people. I wonder how the conversation would change then. Would I learn less? Or more? Hypocrite!
Anyway, tomorrow is the big day. I didn’t get a phone call from Teddy tonight, nor did I see Wallace. I’ll see both of them tomorrow. I’ll also see the big man himself. But I still won’t mention his name until I get where I need to be with him. From what I was told by Angela, he should be well worth the wait. We’ll see.
